Are Your Crow’s Feet Giving You Anxiety? Treat Them with Botox!

With aging comes several skin problems, which unfortunately only get more prominent and visible with age. One of the most distinct and noticeable amongst these skin problems is crow’s feet. These fine lines form on the outer corners of the eyes and are also known as laugh lines. They are unavoidable and are easily noticed when we smile, laugh, or make facial expressions.

Creams do not often work as a solution for crow’s feet. Thus, these age lines typically go untreated completely and remain visible. To get rid of crow’s feet, Botox is a perfect solution that lets you have youthful eyes without embarrassing corner creases.

What Is Botox?

Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment method that helps in relaxing the facial muscles and stopping them from contracting, which in turn allows the skin to be smooth. This reduces a number of wrinkles, creases, and fine lines, including crow’s feet around the outer corners of the eyes. The result is more youthful-looking eyes.

How Do You Know If You Are a Good Candidate for Botox?

The Botox treatment is non-surgical, requires very little time to complete, and is only minimally invasive. All these factors make it a desirable choice. If any of the following apply to you, Botox may be your ideal wrinkle solution:

  • You have wrinkles and fine lines on the outer corners of your eyes, between your eyebrows, on your forehead, on your chin, or in other regions.
  • You have vertical neck bands that stand out.
  • When you smile, laugh, or squint, your wrinkles get more defined.
  • You have tried wrinkle creams, but they have not worked for you.

How Should You Prepare for a Botox Treatment?

There is not much preparation required to get a Botox treatment, as it is non-surgical. It is, however, important to talk to your surgeon before the procedure and learn information such as the number of units of Botox that will be administered. You should also have realistic goals and expectations from the procedure.

The Botox Injection Procedure

Botox treatment is not intensive or complicated. You will not require anesthesia to numb the areas being treated. Since it does not require any surgical methods and is over quickly, it can feel a bit like any other regular check-up.

The procedure usually takes only about 15 minutes. Your surgeon will mark the areas where injection shots are to be given. Once this is done, he will administer the shots required using a very thin needle that will relax the muscles and treat the wrinkles.

No Downtime Needed

It is very common to experience a degree of redness and bruising after the treatment, but they are temporary and will fade away. You can resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment with no downtime needed.

You will be advised to refrain from taking part in strenuous activities for a time and to avoid using harsh scrubs and other face products. You will also be asked to not massage the treated area for a time.
